UBC PETE Association

Teaching Physical Education for Understanding

The UBC PETE Association was created in the winter of 2007 and meets once a month to collaborate and experiment with new teaching methods in Physical Education. The association has a focus on Teaching Games for Understanding and is looking to affect change in Physical Education across British Columbia and Canada. As advocates of change, the UBC PETE Association not only meets to discuss ideas, they have presented at the 4th International Teaching Games for Understanding Conference in 2008 at the University of British Columbia. In addition, the association is working on abstracts to present at the QDPE Conference at Douglas College in the fall of 2008 and the CAPHERD Association annual meeting in the winter of 2009 in Banff, Alberta.
